Sister’s Mercantile TN began in January 2025 with one old quilt and a shared love for vintage pieces that still have stories left to tell.

We’re sisters-in-law who’ve been family since 1996 and have always bonded over antique finds, well-loved textiles, and cozy spaces that feel lived in. Based in Clinton, Tennessee, we draw inspiration from the warmth, history, and charm of small-town living and the timeless beauty of handcrafted goods. When Shasta reached out to Michelle with the idea of turning an old quilt into something new, it felt like a natural fit. Our very first pillows sold quickly, and what started as a small creative experiment grew into Sister’s Mercantile TN.

Today, we create handmade pillows, sweatshirts, tote bags, stockings, and more. The heart of our work is antique and vintage quilts. Most of our items are made entirely from reclaimed quilts, while others incorporate quilt elements paired with complementary materials chosen to preserve their character. We source quilts from antique dealers, thrift stores, personal collections, and similar places — always with respect for the craftsmanship and history behind each piece.

Because of the nature of vintage textiles, most of our items are one of a kind. No two quilts are the same, and we see that as part of the beauty. Our work is rooted in craftsmanship and nostalgia — embracing imperfections, honoring wear and age, and creating pieces meant to be used and loved.

Shasta handles cutting and design, Michelle does the sewing, and every piece is designed and made by us. We believe in practical, cozy items that carry meaning, whether they’re for your own home or given as a gift.

At our core, we’re quilt revivalists. We believe old quilts deserve a new life and purpose — not tucked away, but woven into everyday living. Our hope is that when you find something here, it feels personal… like you know us, and like the piece was meant to be yours.
